"The total for Sunday night’s game opened at 39 before dropping to 38 after sharp money started landing on the over."

Wouldn't you expect the total to go up to even out the money?

Sounds like a typo to me.

The line did open at 39 but with a sudden spike of money that shows to have come in on sports insights most books have not moved the number but adjusted the vig from -105 to -110. That is not right, the number would not have gone to 38 in this case. It would do exactly what it did going to 39' or the vig move to -110. Just as I type this and check before I post this I'm seeing 40's now so It's moving right. WSEX had 38' and has moved to 39 so all books are moving up so fare.

Ok, I didn't check the movement. I was questioning the statement.

The total seems pretty low to me. Especially for a prime time game. They way I calculate totals is usually plus or minus 1-1.5. but there is about a 4-6 point difference depending on the site.

The statement still doesn't make much sense to me, but it makes me nervous that the line is moving up. My local has it at 38. That seems to be a good value bet right there. But I am getting scared now that all the money is on the over. The public almost always bet the over.
