2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP
1u on Cruz/Benavidez going the distance @+150
2u on Roller.
It would be nice if the rest of the lines would come out.
Cruz has the edge, but I think the value lies with Benavidez. Benavidez by guillotine.
0.5u on Benavidez @+215
I'm really on the fence with this one. Cruz's domination of Benavidez in their first fight, as well as his clear victory over Bowles (broken hand be damned), makes me reluctant to bet on Benavidez.Originally Posted by poopoo333
Also, it's worth noting that Cruz has only lost ONCE . . . to Urijah Faber.

what does everyone else think about Roller/Pettis?

I think that Pettis will have a clear advantage in the standup, but he will more then likely get Pettis down. The question, really, is whether or not Pettis can either get back to his feet and land a KO shot at some point within the three rounds, or if he can possibly catch a sub (he seems to be a solid BJJ guy and has several subs on his record).Originally Posted by MMA_scientist
If he can't do one or the other, then Roller probably wins a decision via control.

What SPX said, even though Pettis was my first instinct.Originally Posted by MMA_scientist
I like Pettis at the current line. Bendo was able to get the TKO over Roller, and if he can do it then Pettis, who has quite a bit more power in his strikes I think, should be able to do it as well . . . if he can connect.Originally Posted by poopoo333

2u jorgensen
1.5u paixo
Thinking about nkouani/mendes/randy parlay when the lines come out for 5dimes
Why did you make those bets?Originally Posted by Havis Jr

Jorgenson has looked good in all his fights. I haven't seen him in trouble with subs or strikes, if he loses it's a close fights that could have gone either way. (Buenelos and damacio page(his first wec fight)). I don't think Brad is quick enough to ko him and even if he is winning on the feet jorgenson will take it to the ground, he is excellent at mixing strikes and take downs. Pickett has a lot of submissions and if he wins that's how, but I think if Jorgenson had a weakness in sub d it would have been exposed by now this is his 9th fight in the wec.Originally Posted by poopoo333
Paixo is fighting Caraway. Both look like bjj guys, I'm betting the brazilian is better.
Yeah I went and checked these guys out. Paixao has to be the better BJJ guy. He is a black belt, and Caraway isn't (that I know of).Originally Posted by Havis Jr

He has won multiple world championships as a black belt. He took first place in the Mundials 2001, 2002, and 2005. In addition, he finished second in 2004 and third in 2005.
In May of 2010, Paixao defeated Caol Uno in a No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu match at the UFC Fan Expo held in Las Vegas at UFC 114.[2]"
Caraway was subbed by Hominick who is a stand up guy. He also doesn't really have any notable wins. The only thing he has going for him is that he is having sex with the girl in my avatar at a regular basis.
Paixao/Caraway... exactly my type of fight. I have a lot to say about that fight.
Paixao (insert generic bjj comment). His striking sucks pretty hard. His takedowns are not super awesome, but the usually get the job done.
Caraway (insert generic bjj comment). Caraway wrestled in college a little. He fought Wilson Reis, which probably says a lot about how this fight will play out. Reis was taking him down at will... Caraway wanted to play guard. Wilson's takedowns are a lot better than Fredson's.

I was hoping you would weigh in on this fight BJJ_Scientist. You gonna bet Paixao?
I am not allowed to talk about bjj on the forum anymore.
I am going to look at a couple more or Caraway's fights before I make a decision.

You know everything I know here... Paixao should have the advantage on the ground, you already know that. Watch the Reis fight. I need to look at Caraway's other fights to see his takedown defense and his usual strategy. We know Paixao's strategy is going to be get a takedown. So I need to see if Caraway can stop it or if he will play along and try to beat him at his own game, like he did with Reis.
