Ellenberger should definitely win that and I daresay that this fight is a step down after beating Shields.

Has Diego ever been stopped? Besides BJ. I think this fight is closer than many think. A couple of fights ago Ellenberger almost lost to Rocha. And I think Shields was made to order for Ellenberger.

I think it will be a close fight, there is no way I think Ellenberger should be a heavy favorite. Ellenberger slows down after round 1, especially when "he is in a fight" and Sanchez just keeps coming forward. Ellenberger was visibly tired from lay and praying John Howard, and he was exhausted against Rocha IIRC

I think it is pretty close too, edge to Ellenberger in wrestling and power though. Diego is a good grappler, but he is not really a submission guy or a really crafty guy like that bjj german guy (can't remember his name, it was not Rocha though). He is just hard to score on and has good defense. I think Diego will survive anything Ellenberger throws his way, I don't know how much offense he will put up though. Maybe later in the fight Diego's insane cardio will be a factor.

yeah could go either way. I think he might have a big strength advantage over diego though. not sure.

^^ agreed, Ellenberger is one of the more credible contenders, but he needs some big name wins to generate interest to the causals. But if Diego beats him, he is a marketable fighter for GSP to beat the shit out of.

I don't think Sanchez can handle Ellenberger's striking. That said, I can see a crazy Diego in the later rounds taking down a tired Ellenberger. In my opinion, Ellenberger wins this by a split at worst.

So basically you think it will look like the Kampmann-Sachez fight?

No way will Ellenberger be backing up the whole time. Neither one of these guys backs up. Should be some quality violence.

does the healine part also includes the fight to be 5 round?
IIRC, the main event of every UFC event should be 5 rounders now.

If that is the case, Sanchez will defenetely have the hedge in round 3-4-5
