Another Hollywood figure who gets too much hate: Nicolas Cage!
Granted, he takes ANY role he's offered, but when he's good, he's great.
The Rock, Face Off, The Family Man, National Treasure, The Weather Man, Adaptation, Kick Ass . . . all great performances.
Dont forget Con-Air.
"I'm gon save the fuckin day!"
Walks away in slow motion while hair blows in wind
I love that bad movie.
Also what's that crazy movie where he's running around in the bear costume punching women in the face? The Wicker Man, that's it. I've never seen it but I want to.
Triple-six killers in this motherfucker runnin shit

Knowing and Next are my fave Nick Cage movies
Next has a special place in my heart because it was one of the first movies I downloaded via torrent. (I watched it after the worst case of flu I ever had.)
A guy I know was an extra in National Treasure also.

I remember Con Air was kind of big at the time but I never did get into it. Not sure why. Maybe because, as an action movie, I thought it really paled in comparison to The Rock and Face Off, which both came out around the same time.

I've not heard a single person say that Wicker Man was any good so I have thus far stayed away from it. Maybe I'll check it out one day.
Yeah, I only thought a few othise guys were legit. And guys like Erick Silva probably still will be. I dunno wth happened to Jimy Hettes, though.
Silva lost to Jon Fitch. Just like almost everyone else that Fitch has fought. If anything, his performance in that fight confirmed to me that he IS legit.

Those seem like strange choices to me, but I did see that Roger Ebert gave Knowing 4 stars. That's weird because the movie has an average score of only 41 on Metacritic.
And strangely enough, I have a similar story regarding Next. I think it was the first movie I ever streamed off of Netflix after I got around to signing up for their shit. I didn't really get into the movie, but I did think the fact that Netflix had this big library of movies that I could stream 24/7 was amazing.

Bet Bigfoot...it wasn't a Browne fade though.
Bet Struve...same as above.
Didn't bet...don't think SDR really had a hype train though.
Bet Hettes ..fuck
Faded Sass
Faded Lombard.
Faded Poirer
Faded Palhares.
Faded Thompson
Faded Silva
Faded Ellenberger
Bet Davis...not because of hype but thought he would get Rashad down
Was going to bet Lamas over Hioki but I was on a cruise.
5u on Barboza. God. <<<<same here, X
Now that I think about it, my strategy of fading overhyped prospects has been good for me. Palhares/Silva/Ellenberger all had one factor I knew about and was a major contribution to my fade...bad cardio.
Silva did prove to me he is legit though, but he will still struggle against wrestlers. However, he did OK at times against Fitch, and Fitch is the best Fitcher. I would like to see Mike Pierce fight Erick Silva next.
