Jones was just -1125 on 5dimes. Pretty sure Hendo/Jones won't be on 149 though. It will be Aldo/Kock.

Didn't hear that Akiyama was injured, but it's a good thing for him.

Hopefully the UFC will give him a gimme fight.

Belcher, Leben, Bisping, Vitor, Marquardt, Alves, Shields.

Yeah, an easy matchup is likely.

They will probably give him Koscheck.

I'm just saying they need to do him a solid and match him up with a fighter who's on the appropriate level. Plenty of other established fighters occasionally get matched up with fighters who are either new to the UFC or who are mid-tier guys.

                        Belcher fought Gouveia.
                        Guida fought Shannon Guggerty.
                        Jeremy Stephens fought Danny Downes.

A lot of fighters get bounce-back fights after a loss. If anyone is deserving of such a fight now, it's Akiyama.

Akiyama is getting paid too much to get fights like those.

What's he getting, like 40K? Is that more than Kos got to fight a newcomer in Paulo Thiago? More than Fitch got paid fight a dude with only one win in the UFC in Mike Pierce? It's barely even more than Chris Leben got to fight Jay Silva.

People always use the argument that Akiyama "gets paid too much," but he's really not making a whole lot of money in comparison to a lot of other guys. Besides, there are other benefits. Fans want to see Akiyama fight. The more he wins, the more the UFC can justify keeping him around, and potentially the deeper the UFC can penetrate both the Japanese and Korean markets.
