I favor Overeem...I had a little bit of money on Bigfoot at +180 when they were scheduled to fight back at the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix though. Lots of people I have seen discussing this fight are giving Bigfoot no chance. I really believe that there is a legitimate chance that these people are proven wrong. That said....

I think Bigfoot always has a chance and I also think Overeem is not an unstoppable machine (largely because of cardio). But really, if this goes down then Bigfoot probably will, too.

Everyone has a chance in the heavyweight division. Bigfoot should be the underdog but with Overeems layoff and most likely laying off the juice for the duration of that camp because of random testing I think Silva's chances only improve. That said Overeem probably knocks him out in the first.

yeah, it will probably be a kickboxing match. But I am excited to see it nonetheless. As an aside, Maia has to get the worst matchups more consistently than anyone else. He basically only fights wrestlers. Fitch may be the one guy that is going to try to grind him out from the top, but probably not. If Maia gets him in the spots Silva had him in, Maia will close IMO. That said, Fitch will probably win a decision... basically has no chance at a finish though.

I think Fitch can do his thing here with Maia. If he survived having BJ on his back I think he can get out of trouble with Maia unless Maia hurts him first and follows him down.

I think maia is better on the ground then bj. He is also bigger and stronger. Worse striker though.

Maia may be more skilled but his style is mostly orthodox. BJ had the added element of leg dexterity and whatnot. I think I remember him trying to pin one of Jon's arms with his legs before he went for a choke. We won't be seeing much of that from Maia, he's more of a straight up technician who prefers to keep things traditional.

I guess. I dont know if that makes bj more dangerous on the ground. Either way, this will be an interesting fight. Maia is doing well in the 170 division. If he wins this he could be close to a title shot.

It looks like Stefan Struve vs Cheick Kongo is possible for this card.
