Overeems problem is he overlooked Bigfoot. He did nothing but fuck with him in the first round, then when he ate a punch and leg kick he took it to the ground and spent a few minutes doing pretty much no damage in a closed guard, which probably didn't help his tank at all, and in the third round he let Bigfoot blitz him. In all honesty he probably could have ended it in the first round if he wasn't so concerned with trying to play Anderson Silva.

The thing with Bigfoot is that he's a junkyard dog. He's not the best fighter or the best athlete etc etc etc, but he never stops chasing until he reaches the end of the yard. Unless you put him out of the fight he will keep coming until one of you get finished or until the end of the third round sounds.

When I made My bet on Bigfoot is was more of a value bet. Not to say I didn't think he could win, but I knew it was more likely that Overeem fucked his shit up in the first round than anything else. But a top 10 heavyweight being +300 to another top 10 heavyweight is a little crazy, especially when the underdog has a clear path to victory(the homer simpson strategy).

Yeah he definetly overlooked Bigfoot. I was watching interviews with him before the fight and he made me a little worried because he was acting like victory was a foregone conclusion. Then when he came out and stuck his finger in the air and acted like he was a fucking rockstar coming out on stage I started getting worried. AND then when he fought with his hands by his sides I started literally freaking out. God damn asshole. I hope he learned his lesson. I would consider betting on him again even though he was horrendously fucked up. He will probably be suspended again.

Two things. One, Dana said during the post fight press conference that he would like to see them rematch. I think he hinted at it. Obviously from a business standpoint it is better to have Overeem win. Second, I can't wait to hear what shit Alistair has to say about this.

Reem's next fight will either be a squash match set up against Travis Browne or a fight against Stefan Struve (if he beats Mark Hunt) or HOPEFULLY....JDS. Shit, let Cormier fight Reem after he beats Mir.
