Ian 'The Machine' Freeman announced today through Facebook that he is set to face MMA legend Ken Shamrock on July, 27.
UFC Hall of Famer, Shamrock, revealed his desire to face Freeman at BAMMA 12. It was since reported that negotiations had somewhat stalled between the two senior competitors however, the bout has now been agreed.
On Sunday, March, 24, Shamrock Tweeted: “Well i am going to fight ian just trying to see the proposal make sure that everybody is happy on mon. I will get the proposal in front of me and look it over. And hopefully sighn it so i can start amp up my training.”
Freeman, today via Facebook: “Well the news you've all been waiting for .. Ian 'The Machine' Freeman vs Ken 'The worlds most dangerous man' Shamrock ... IS ON! The show will be on the Ultimate Cage Fighting Championships on July 27th 2013 at the Doncaster Keepmoat Stadium. .. it will be for the "Legends World Title" Time to settle this shit once and for all. ... let the battle begin!”
Freeman pioneered the sport of mixed martial arts in Britain during the late 90's, and with a UFC tenure that saw Britain's 'Godfather of MMA' defeat former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, as well as face the likes of former champion Andrei Arlovski.
