Other fighters have spoken out against Fox, but Mitrione's over the top and, probably most important here, unsolicited comments are what the UFC took action against. There's nothing in the first amendment that says your employer needs to let you say whatever you want while at the same time representing them either directly or indirectly. That's why dvd's and shit always have that "the views expressed here do not represent the views of the studio" or whatever.

They also get paid to do photo shoots, interviews, press conferences, open workouts, Q&A's, and all the other shit that goes along with fighting on a UFC card. These guys, like most professional athletes, are constant representatives in the media of their sport and whatever "team"(read organization) they compete for.

From some standpoints the gender reassignment surgery leaves no advantage in the way of testosterone and whatnot. But you can't change bone density, skull and jaw formation, larger hands/longer arms, or the way muscle groups have already formed and some of the other basic physiological differences between men and women besides sexual organs and the production of testosterone. Fallon Fox without a doubt has advantages simply by having grown up into an adult male.

Where's the assumption? Redesigning the genitalia and going on hormone therapy has nothing to do with how large the hands have already grown to, how much thicker the bones are by nature, or the myriad of other physiological differences between men and women that simply cannot be undone after the fact. Fallon Fox is 36 years old, and had this surgery in 2006, which means that Fox lived 29 years as a male. Men and women differ in skeletal structure, and that's not something that some hormone injections are going to change after a full bout of sexual maturity and the usual age at which a man stops growing(25). Typically males will have larger heart and lungs than females, as well as 30% more lung capacity.

Are you really proposing that growing up and becoming a fully matured male in all facets has somehow been undone by hormone replacement therapy and a procedure that can be visualized with a sandwich baggy?

Larger hands makes it much easier to grip and hold onto things. For instance if your hand fits all the way around someone elses wrists it is much more likely that you'll be able to keep that person from breaking your grip(see Semmy Schilt's fight with Pete Williams). Larger hands also creates a heavier punch just like putting a larger head on a hammer before you swing it around. More bone mass makes bones harder to fracture, which means more stress can be applied to them before such a thing would occur.
