UFC 167 GSP vs Hendricks

Well, so is everyone. It's relative.
GSP is probably going to do his thing with the jab. Really there is no rational reason to think Hendricks is going land on him when no one else does... but like you, I just feel GSP's time is about up. Hendricks needs to throw caution to the wind and make it ugly though. He's not going to out gameplan GSP and he isn't as skilled.
Bring in the fact that we haven't seen Johnny in a five round fight and he's seemed to tire a bit and I think GSP has the advantage. Now I defintely agree with you that Hendricks is as good a bet as anyone to dethrone GSP as he can knock him out but I really don't see it as likely. If he doesn't do it in the first round I'd be pretty shocked if he wins the fight. I believe he has only two other finishes out of the first round and they were in the second. I know one was brenneman. My main reason for being concerned with a bet on GSP is that he's been champion for so long and crazy shit happens, but if styles really make fights I think GSP wins this 60-80% of the time.Comment

I can't see Hendricks winning this one either. GSP did have multiple exchanges with Diaz on the feet and did get marked up, but didn't get caught with anything crazy or hurt at all. He held his own on the standup with Condit also, minus a headkick which would have landed on and knocked out almost any other fighter in the division. Condit is a more dangerous matchup than Hendricks and GSP handled Condit very well. GSP UD. Late stoppage could be possible but I don't see it unless Hendricks goes nuts the first 2 rounds.Last edited by AC88; 11-11-2013, 11:33 PM.Comment

I agree that GSP should handle Hendricks, but I think Condit's defensive wrestling deficiency makes him a much easier matchup for GSP than Hendricks. GSP will have to deal with a dangerous striker who can keep the fight standing, as opposed to one who can't.Comment

I pretty much agree with everyone. GSP is better and Johny doesn't present anything GSP hasn't seen before. I just feel that GSP has a better chance than anyone who has fought GSP in recent memory. I think Hendricks is much more difficult fight than Condit. I thought Kos was the most likely to beat GSP of the other challengers.
That said, FC will find a way.2012: +19.33

im one to think Rory is overrated. He's young but not explosive, not anywhere an athletic freak some top fighters are. He gets hit quite a few times (vs BJ who is much smaller than him) and he does slow down in the 3rd round. He beat Mike Pyle and Che Mills with wrestling/gnp but i think he will have a hard time taking Lawler down. His striking is just not that impressive to me. He jabbed his way to a win against Ellenberger but I dont think he can do that against a guy as explosive as Lawler. Lawler is probably faster than Rory and has good wrestling. IF he lands on Rory, he will seriously hurt Rory. I am hoping Lawler wont hold back and just come forward pressuring Rory and not let Rory push him up against the fence. I dont think Rory will do well going backward. at +275, that price is too good for me so I put 4u on it. I will add more if it gets better but i have a feeling money gonna come in on Lawler.
how do u see Rory beating Lawler?Comment

someone ho lost a striking battle to Babalu could lose agains't koscheck. But damn did he suprised me... Also in his fight agains't Voelker,. he looked extremely good. Not saying that voelker is an awesome fighter but he sure can strike, and lawler made him look like a chump. Still think that rory should win but I am not counting out Lawler anymore, especially since he has looked so good latelyComment

How is Rory overrated? Besides the Condit fight that he gassed in the last minute and got stopped, he's done nothing but dominate fighters.
Lawler has no chance imo. It will probably look a lot like the Ellenberger fight. I think Rory by decision is the way to go2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP
