Torres got submitted by some 8-5 guy in the 1st round. He doesn't have value.

Speaking of overrated, X told me a hundred times that Burkman was a top fighter because he beat Fitch............

This event certainly lends some credence to the "never bet on former UFC guys dropping down to lower promotions" theory.

The UFC seems to be pretty good at telling when a fighter is on the decline. I told X a while ago that Fitch had been on the decline since the Penn fight. Him beating Silva made him look better than he really was.......and I still can't explain that win.

What did you see that made you think he was declining? I have a theory as to why he is losing now.

                        1.) He is getting older

2.) His competition is getting much much better

Frankly I think its more of number two than anything else. Look at all his losses and/or close fights. Pierce and Paulo thiago each won a round off him. They both have decent takedown defense. Pierce was also fighting only his second ufc fight against fitch. His other losses are BJ penn, Maia, Burkman, GSP. All people that can wrestle. Basically if your a better grappler than him you have a good shot at beating him. You can also knock him out like Hendricks. Maybe Fitch's chin is deteriorating. I really don't know though. Hendricks hits very hard.

I'm also thinking Steve Carl will be fighting Jon Fitch next. Would anyone bet on Fitch?

He was getting dominated by a way past him prime, much smaller, BJ Penn before Penn gassed. Most people just look at that fight as Fitch got screwed on the decision, but I look at it like that

I think it can also be that guys lose their drive after they get cut from the UFC.

Every now and then though, you'll see someone get their mojo back, like Jamie Varner.
