True that Machida's striking is not as good as Anderson's overall... but Weidman was not exactly taking it to him up until the break. Anderson was winning IMO. Also, in the first fight, people act like Weidman was dominating... he wasn't. Barring the KO shot while Silva was clowning, I am not sure he wins. Machida also has better takedown defense than Silva. I think Machida can definitely win. But then, he probably won't thrown any strikes because he will be too busy being elusive.

Agree with scientist. Wiedman has great overall grappling and he times his shots very well. I see him doing well with the tds. Better than most as least.

Think Weidman dominated Silva both times, but can see where you're coming from.

I just don't see how Machida wins. He's been scared to throw strikes since getting KO'd by Shogun. Machida also doesn't deal with pressure very well. He likes to stay at a distance and go in and out. Wiedman will pressure him from the opening bell.

Think Machida might win a rd or two, but Weidman will take him deep and KO or Sub him

I can see a classic Machida decision here. One where he does a lot of eluding, throws a few strikes, gets tagged a few times, and you have no idea what the decision is going to be. But yeah, his general problem is that he doesn't stay active enough for MMA scoring.

I actually watched 3 fights. Faber, rousey, and Weidman.

            I thought Davis won.

Machida could have won that fight if he would have thrown some strikes.

For real though I guess I have to give rousey some credit. I still think wmma is dumb because all the fighters care terrible, but rousey is just housing everyone they put in front of her. I now think she would beat cyborg

                Was caceres competitive with Faber?

From earlier in the thread: He's been scared to throw strikes since getting KO'd by Shogun.

Fight after fight people say "if he'd throw some strikes" but its not going to happen. He lost the fight to Davis and Rampage for the exact reason.

Weidman had his worst camp ever and said he was having problems with the ligaments in his hand and couldn't punch that last two weeks.... and still beat Machida.

Saw someone compare Rouset to 1993 Royce which I think is a good comparison. She's not that good, but everyone else sucks

Like luke said, he wasn't getting completely dominated, but at no point was he ever winning either. He was losing every second, but he was never in a real bad spot up until he got subbed. I remember betting against Caceres because I didn't think he belonged in the UFC. It worked out then, but he has definitely improved. He is legit now, but I do think he gave up a little against Faber.
