How do you always know the story? Did you really know THAT much about Ray Charles's life? Or Queen Elizabeth? Or Truman Capote?

I liked Blow because...well...Depp... and I didn't know the story. The rest of those, no. I watch movies for a good story/experience. If I already know the story, half the reason I watch it is gone.

I'll be the third wheel and say Black Mass looks best to me. Depp is always good in things. For the most part, I don't like bio movies, though. I hate going into a movie knowing what its already about

I think it looks cool, but Sicario is the one I'm least excited about of the three. Then again, I think the Black Mass trailer just looks awesome and I'm really interested in chess.

So what upcoming movies is everyone looking forward to? Here are a few of mine, all in September:

    1. Black Mass

In 1970s Boston, FBI agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) persuades Irish gangster Whitey Bulger (Johnny Depp) to help the agency eliminate their common enemy, the Italian mob.

    2. Pawn Sacrifice

American chess legend Bobby Fischer (Tobey Maguire) and Soviet Grandmaster Boris Spassky (Liev Schreiber) enthrall the world with their intense battle of wills and strategy during the 1972 World Chess Championship.

    3. Sicario

After rising through the ranks of her male-dominated profession, idealistic FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) receives a top assignment. Recruited by mysterious government official Matt Graver (Josh Brolin), Kate joins a task force for the escalating war against drugs. Led by the intense and shadowy Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), the team travels back-and-forth across the U.S.-Mexican border, using one cartel boss (Bernardo Saracino) to flush out a bigger one (Julio Cesar Cedillo).

Welcome to the 2015 Off Topic Thread

This is the place for conversation on movies, music, current events, one-off MMA discussion that doesn't warrant its own thread, etc.
