It is a sport but it's also entertainment. When two fighters are idle on the ground they get stood up. When two fighters are idle against the fence they get seperated. Fan entertainment is as much a part of it as the competitive aspect of the sport. At the end of the day no matter what sport your talking about it comes down to business. Fans being unhappy equals bad business.

Thats why boxing is a better sport imo than MMA .MMA still has the WWE entertainment part of it incorparated into it.You'll never see in a boxing match a ref say "lets work" .Its so bad in MMA I've heard refs say if the fighters didnt do more they werent going to get paid.That imo is dumb as hell

Just rewatched Carwin/Mir.

I was at the bar the other night and pretty much entirely drunk, but the results the same. Carwin is a bad motherfucker and has supernatural power in his hands. I don't know how he'll fare against Brock, but he obviously has something in terms of pure power that's very unique.

Why dont you think he'll fair well against Lesnar? Lesnar hasnt fought in a year,has only 5 fights,and cant out strike Carwin. If Carwin can use his muscle to stuff a few Lesnar takedowns he'll be the next champ

As for being out a year, do you realize that Carwin was also out a year before this fight?

I keep coming back to Lesnar / Couture. Lesnar didn't exactly dominate Couture in the wrestling department despite having a massive age and weight advantage. Carwin might well be able to neutralize him

Seriously though I think Carwin can defend Lesnars takedowns. Everyone that said Mir was going to win said he would take Carwin down and submit him.Mir never never had the chance.I've seen Carwin takedown once that lasted for about 10 seconds.I'd say Carwin is just as likely to take Lesnar down as Lesnar is of taking Carwin down.Where does that leave us ? On their feet and Carwin for sure has the edge there

He may very well. I fully agree with that. I would take Carwin if he was even a moderate underdog. At even odds though, it would have to be Lesnar for 1u.
