Possible fights for the card are Sera-Swick and Toney-?

Looks like they are trying to match Swick up with a do or die opponent. He should be able to win based on reach and skillset alone, but He could still get knocked out if he gets caught. If he loses I believe he's out of the UFC at this point.

Real surprised by this matchup, but if it happens then of course I'm backing my boy Serra. Swick is unusually tall for a WW though and Serra is unusually short, so it's really not a good matchup for him.

A lot of people over on Sherdog are saying Serra should fight Paulo Thiago. I think that would be a good matchup.

I actually think it's a much better matchup for Serra. I think Serra would be able to hold his own in the striking and, with the power he's been displaying lately, if he lands flush on Paulo's chin it might shut the lights off or at least stun him enough for Serra to get the TKO.

Also, Serra is a great positional fighter. I don't think he would be able to sub Thiago, but I think he would be able to stay out of danger and maybe control the action enough to get the decision.

My biggest thing is that I don't want to see Serra get beat by height instead of skill. I understand that he'll always be a few inches shorter, but someone like Swick or Saunders could potentially win only because they're so fucking tall.

In my opinion, Serra's still in the rebuilding stage after losses to GSP and Hughes. He beat Trigg, now give him someone like Marcus Davis or possibly Jon Howard. If he wins that one, then go ahead and give him someone closer to the top.

Oh, and Phil Baroni. I know a lot of people have been calling for that one since it would be NY vs NY with tons of shit talking. That would be fun, though it wouldn't mean much in terms of pushing Serra up the ladder.
