NIKOLAY Valuev intends to fight Ukrainian WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in a bout likely to take place on May 29, the Russian told the German tabloid Bild .
“I want to face Vitali, it would be an interesting fight that the boxing world has wanted for many years,” he said.
The giant Valuev, who stands at 2.13m, could meet 38-year- old Klitschko at Gelsenkirchen in western Germany at the stadium of Bundesliga football team Schalke.
Valuev, 36, is looking to re-launch his career after losing his WBA heavyweight title to Britain’s David Haye in November.
Klitschko, whose younger brother Vladimir is the IBF and WBO heavyweight champion, has 39 victories on his record, including 37 inside the distance, with two defeats
