Well in terms of number of fights he certainly does.

Well in that case I have more experience in fighting than Lesnar does.

          See how stupid that sounds?

I think I'm just going to pick Carwin because no one has yet stopped him from knocking them out in the first round.

                  Re: UFC 116 discussion/matchups

Experience counts for jack shit when the guy with more fights has half the total time in a cage. He has more first round experience, but Brock has more second and third round experience. Also, we have seen Carwin get rocked by smaller men than Lesnar(Gonzaga). Granted it took two or three consecutive shots to do it, but I think if Lesnar connects flush(and Carwin has a bad habit of standing tall when he throws) I think Carwin goes down. As far as striking is concerned you can say Carwin has the power advantage there, but I don't necessarily buy it. If Lesnar threw short hooks while planting his feet like he's a rooted redwood he could have knocked any one of those fighters out as well, however he sent Herring(roughly Carwins size in height and weight) tumbling backward with a straight right. Punching Power I have even depending on the situation.

Wrestling is clear cut in Lesnars favor. He has transitioned his wrestling to MMA very well. Carwin has used his mostly as a means to either stuff takedowns or scramble back to his feet when he gets taken down. I haven't seen Carwin go for many takedowns(at least not since he was still in amatuer shows and that was a slam mostly because the other guy clinched him up). Carwin seems less concerned with actual takedowns whereas Lesnar is all about them. However polar opposites of the same genre are hard to compare to each other. I defer to the level of competition they faced to earn their pedigrees, in which case Lesnar has it.

Carwin showed prowess in his last fight with dirty boxing and using the clinch to neutralize a larger opponent in Mir. I don't know how well he will do with that strategy against Lesnar, who was already educated in the clinch to a degree, but now that he's been training with Couture, you can bet Lesnar will be much more schooled in the clinch. However given what we've seen as far as success I'd have to give the clinch advantage to Carwin at this point.

All in all at the current odds, Lesnar definitely has value, but so does Carwin. I'd put this fight at 60-40 in favor of Lesnar.

I might bet Carwin just because he's bald and without the hair he should have better head movement

                      Agreed.

Well I'm certainly not betting AGAINST an undefeated huge guy who has killed everyone he's ever fought.

On a side note, secretly I hope this fight goes into the 3rd or 4th and both guys are so badly gassed they can barely stay standing.

I hope Carwin knocks him out after he clearly dominates him. Maybe takes him down, mounts him, then knocks him out. It wont happen, but I hope it does.

I'm betting Lesnar because he's bigger, stronger ,faster, better wrestler and I havent seen Carwin do a single thing besides KO people with punches and I dont see that happening because I think Lesnar goes straight for the takedowns
