Even if it's a great movie and that means you'll never get to see it otherwise? The point, after all, is to experience the story. If German--or Swedish, or Japanese, or Arabic--is the only way to do it, then it comes down to watch the movie subtitled or don't watch it at all.

Personally, I've seen way too many good foreign films to think it's a pointless endeavor.

I mean look at Downfall. Just from that clip it looks like a good movie that I'd want to see and there's not a way to do that in English.
