Everyone says he has good TD-defense, but does he really? I think his biggest takedown challenge in MMA so far was from a washed-up Frank Shamrock who had made a gentlemen's agreement not to go to the ground.
He is a legit state wrestling champ. That much is indisputable and I figure it has to count for something.
Mir was a state champ. Melvin. Evan Tanner. There was a guy in Indiana named Anthony Lapsley who I thought would be unstoppable with takedowns, he was a HS state champ. But then I saw his fight and he gets takes down all the time.
But in Le's case, the are throws in San Shou... and like I said, I think he actually wrestled in college. I think he knows enough striking that he sees the takedown coming.
