            Re: MMA/Boxing parlay thread

As some of you know, the never ending locks parlay technically never died. I foolishly lost the entire stake on Sokodjou though. Anyway, I am rebooting it in a new long term format.

I am going to have two 5u stakes for it to start. I am going play each stake until I double it, then take it down and start over. The goal is to build this into a totally separate bankroll (50u) and eventually measure it against my true bankroll which I use for regular value plays up to a cap of -300 (-400 in special circumstances). Anything over -300 has to go in the locks parlay.
Just placed my first mixed boxing and MMA parlay to kickstart the never ending locks parlay re-boot:

            5u to win 2.9u on:
10/15/2010 9:00 PM Boxing Fighting 502 Lucian Bute* -1300 vs Jesse Brinkley
10/15/2010 8:00 PM Boxing Fighting 522 Adrian Diaconu* -1200 vs Omar Sheika
10/16/2010 4:00 PM Boxing Fighting 502 Vitali Klitschko* -1950 vs Shannon Briggs
10/23/2010 4:00 PM Boxing Fighting 502 Paul Smith* -1500 vs Paul David
10/16/2010 2:00 PM UFC Fighting 1302 John Hathaway* -475 vs Mike Pyle

            And we are off.

I don't follow boxing, but I was wondering... how often do the huge favorites (-800 or worse) actually lose?

                  Re: MMA/Boxing parlay thread

I have noticed that any big favorite in boxing is automatically -1000. The lines on favorites are much steeper in boxing than MMA IMO. But I have heard a lot of guys can beat boxing, so I am getting more into it.

They do lose. I asked around about every fight in the parlay (paul smith/davis) has been cancelled. I think they are are pretty much locks. I am a little worried about Diaconu, because I heard is sort of hot and cold.

Top 20 fighters you see on HBO and Showtime rarely lose as -800 or above favs but on ESPN FNF's or Showbox or untelevised fights where fighters have 10 or less fights it happens alot

Diaconu won, and Bute is beating the shit out of Brinkley.

I saw the Bute fight . Brinkley had no chance in that one. Watching the Tarver fight right now

i wish i knew boxing like I did mma, the frequency of events is mouthwatering. I look forward to UFC to expand its promo into asia and brazil. I was pumped when I read about that but last I heard the pres said they might wait until the 2016 olympics in brazil for the first event, hopefully they kickstart the international brand a lot sooner.

That fight was a shocker. Pyle came in and did work and Hathaway got his hype train derailed.

yeah, Pyle did some work on his takedowns. He flat out wrecked Hathaway. I thought Story and Diego were better wrestlers than Pyle, apparently not anymore.
