A Belcher who comes in sprawling and brawling will smash Maia IMO. It is hard to call because Belcher puts himself in bad positions on the ground. Ie. HIs last fight with Cote when Cote got him in side control and attempted the Kimura. I imagine Maia being in the same spot and Belcher would get tapped.
If Maia can keep Belcher down for more than 60 seconds, I am guessing he will get tapped. I suspect Maia will open as a pretty big favorite.
Of course, almost anyone that can sprawl and brawl Maia is going to beat him... but that is easier said that done. Maia is getting better with his hands to set up takedowns and his takedowns are already very good for a bjj guy. I will never let anyone forget the takedown he put on Sonnen.
The fight comes down to Belcher's takedown defense.
