Probably a decent strategy. If you wait until the last event, and just bet on a 50/50 fight, you would probably have an excellent chance. To gain more than 20% in 2 months is pretty impressive.

But out of 9 opponents, you can almost be sure someone will. Betting to be the best out of ten is nothing like betting to maximize expected winnings; variance becomes your friend.

I like 8 events this time. If it works out we can do longer ones and maybe even a six month one starting around new years if it's still something we want to do.
