Why is everyone picking Leben?

I don't know, all I can think about when I see this forum is how much I hate Ludo's retardedly huge signature. I mean nobody else even has a picture and his is 500 pixels tall followed by a quote and like 10 more lines of text.

I wasn't aware it was that big.

Anyway. The reason I picked Leben was that Akiyama only gets about two weeks to prepare for him and set a gameplan up for him before fight night. This is an advantage for Leben in the regard that Leben prepares the same way for anyone he's fighting. He's going to work his hands and try to keep the fight standing. Leben is also fresh off a fight meaning he's in shape and he's not at all rusty. Akiyama hasn't competed since July.

Leben is certainly a sexy underdog pick, and he could certainly blast Akiyama out. In my opinion it's Akiyama's fight to lose though. I think the biggest difference in regards to gameplanning is that Leben is a southpaw which could pose some problems if the Sexman isn't prepared.

I think Akiyama has the striking advantage and the grappling/takedown advantage. Akiyama has a solid chin, I doubt Leben will be blowing him away with strikes. At even money, no way I would take Leben.

Of course, that means he will win.

It's different though. It isn't even money for one. For two Leben also has a very tough chin and he's a south paw with slightly slower punches. Timing is everything and I just don't think Akiyama will have the right sense of timing to stop those punches if Leben can corner him. Rust is going to play a big part of this I think. on paper Akiyama is the better fighter, but 11 months after his last fight and getting a new opponent, a game opponent, with two weeks notice is bad tidings for Sexyama.
