You just missed it on Spike. Basically Hathaway got handled on the feet, and was out grappled. I really think the knee that stunned Diego just threw him off the rest of the fight and made Hathaway look way better.

Yeah Diego was messed up by that knee, i was thinking the same thing. It's not like Hathaway finished him or really outclassed him on the feet. He just rocked Diego while he was shooting in and from then onward, it was a little eaiser to outpoint Diego because he was rocked.

I think the size difference also had a lot to do with it. Hathaway looked a lot bigger than Diego. This was not at all the case with Pyle.

Either way, we should have bet on Pyle. I was thinking about it for a while because I saw vids where pyle looked so ridiculously confident in his ability but in the end I didn't. Oh well, there was no real way to know. I wonder what will happen with their lines in future fights.

Because he's a fucking asshole. I am equal parts pissed that I didn't win when Kongo was clearly the better fighter and relieved that I made out of that fiasco with a draw.

In any case, we learned a lot:

1. Kongo is going to try getting away with dirty shit in every fight he's in.

2. Browne is only good for one round.

3. Browne throws wild punches with little technique and should get easily beaten if he ever even thinks about fighting a top 10 guy.

When the line first opened, I actually came close to taking Hathaway, thinking Pyle had no chance. After seeing Pyle get destroyed by Ellenberger and Hathaway outclass pretty much everyone, I really figured it would be an easy win. Thank God I stayed away.

Sadly, I think fighters can get a significant advantage with a little cheating here and there. Not only do you need to get caught, but because a point deduction is a pretty big deal, you can often push the refs pretty far before there are consequences. Several times, Pyle grabbed Hathaway's shorts to get a better grip during the takedowns. Of course, he could just let go after getting them, so he wasn't holding long enough to get penalized.
