I think he means you bet everything. Either you'll be rich or broke by 30 doing that. Meaning you're going to get really good at everything or lose everything because you never got good.

I started out playing blackjack, then played A LOT of poker. I can beat the low limit games pretty consistently. I could make a very crappy living playing poker. I never could constently beat anything over 5/10.
I play Hold-Em, too. But never got into playing for that much cash, or sinking that much time into it.
I played a few $1000 hands. There are alot of maniacs with money. My problem is the swings. I don't like them. I can grind it out for a few days, but I always chase. I actually prefer Omaha to Hold em. You can beat low limit Hold em with pure math. Just play tight and play the pot odds and you will win. It gets too mental over 5/10.
I don't like tourneys though I did get 2nd and 3rd back to back in a several thousand person online tourney and cleared 9 grand.
That's like saying, "I like watching golf, but not playing it."
Huh? What?
not really .I think its entertaining to watch on TV or live but I just have no desire to play it. When I did play back when my brother first started I realized there are just too many bad beats and its very boring if you're not in the hand .
