If you want some high quality piracy just grab an fta box. I suggest CNX nano 2.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

I suggest when viewing streams to use a proxy. You dont want Dana draining your bank acount.

Is your IP recorded when you use Sopcast or Veetle?

Well sopcast is p2p so your ip is exposed to everyone viewing that channel. With veetle also using a plugin I suspect its using some sort of p2p hashing system. Either way I believe both use rendezvous servers to establish the connection much like a tracker does with a torrent file. Depending on the logging on the rendezvous server both could potentially store your ip forever. So if either company got dragged in by the zuffa dog lawyers you could be at risk. I think sopcast is based in china so I doubt they would give up any info. I'm gonna stay away from veetle because i think they are setting themselves up to be the next big target.

Sopcast just uses streams you can find on channelsurfing I'm pretty sure. So it's still justin.tv streams

I highly doubt it .I mean they could see the IP's of the people watching the stream but the likelihood they were recording IP address is close to .000001% imo

If you're worried about it use peerblock .Its what I use when downloading movies

IANAL, but I think suing people for *watching* a stream would require them to break entirely new legal ground. They're going after the IP numbers of the streamers.

According to the article, they're going to start targeting the viewers, too.
