His opponent is a brute too. He was solid wrester and was scholarshipped at Iowa State. It could cancel out and become a striking affair.
He is massive, weighing in at as high as 365#... he was an NFL prospect. And he has a quality win over Tony Lopez.
That said, I have to favor the olympian. I know Cormier's cardio is going to hold up. I know he won't LOSE the wrestling match. AND Johnson lost his last fight, AND has not been in the cage since 2008.
Cormier by TKO in the 3rd.
There is a max bet of $75 on Cormier on BM...2012: +19.33

Re: KOTC 8/13
Correction. That dumbass website has HW Tony Johnson's pic and article, but then it has his pic matched up with MW Tony Johnson's record.
Here is the real record. search for Tony Johnson Jr. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Tony-Johnson-Jr-41069
Anyway, it looks like he is all GNP, Cormier is going to be a better wrestler. I still like Cormier.2012: +19.33

Re: KOTC 8/13
Daron Cruickshank is a decent underdog.
He was a mid level collegiate wrestler, D3 and a Juco nat'l runner up. Dan Lauzon was able to take him down, Daron will be able to as well. But I would still favor green a little just because of experience.
Quinn Mulhern is pretty good, and I like watching him fight. He has a really tricky ground game (even he is a rubber guard guy). I don't know anything about the other guy, but Mulhern is solid standing too... so that might be worth a look2012: +19.33

Re: KOTC 8/13
I might make a bet on Quinn Mulhern over Levi Stout.
Quinn Mulhern is 12-1 and the KOTC champ with his only loss being to Mike Guymon. He has beaten Rich Clementi, while Stout's wins are against people with even records or losing records, except for one 3-2 guy. Mulhern is a brown belt in BJJ. I am not sure if Stout has any major grappling/striking credentials because I can't find them which leads me to believe he doesn't have any. He also hasn't fought since May of 2009, but I'm not sure if that means anything at his level.

Mulhern is really good on the ground. He has gumby style, but he is really sound. Love watching him fight. He is also really tall which helps him strike pretty well.
I am trying to find info on the other guy, but I think Mulhern is a legit fighter and could probably beat a lot of UFC WWs2012: +19.33

Re: KOTC 8/13
I can't find shit on Stout. No vids, no background.
I did read that he is a local fighter. There is a HS wrestling coach in the same area named Levi Stout, so unless that is an incredible coincidence, he probably brings a wrestling base.
I might take a leap of faith on Mulhern here. If you can get a quality guy like Mulhern against an unknown quantity, it is probably a decent play. But @ 2:1, I don't know.2012: +19.33
