IIRC, it was some people who wanted to ransom his sister for drug money. Only they screwed up and let her see their faces, so they figured they had to kill her.

From what I understand, the report came out that she was murdered, but the source of that info was later deemed to be uncredible.

Well, I understand that the assumption is that she's dead, but that doesn't hold up in court. I do believe that at the current time she's still classified as "missing."

I can't remember where I read it, but I remember seeing something that said the cops later decided the confession wasn't genuine and was motivated by something else--mental illness, I think.

But who knows. I do agree that it's a pretty sure bet she's dead.
