Dana being Dana.
By his logic Matt Hughes must be the biggest chump on the face of the planet.

Also, Doc Hamilton's system is more than just half points. The 4th judge or 'table judge' who scores objective criteria in the event of a draw is just bizarre.Leave a comment:

Yeah the judges need to be better. It wouldn't hurt to adjust the scoring system to .5's though. It would allow the judges to be more precise with their scores.Leave a comment:

The half-point system has been used in kickboxing for ages, and a lot of judges who have used it say that going back to the 10-point-must system is very frustrating.
If judges were more willing to give 10-10s and 10-8s then that would at least be better, but they're not going to do it. Apparently everyone was very satisfied with the half-point system at the CAMO bouts, though.
You're right more 10-10s and 10-8s would probably fix everything .They just really need to start cracking down on judges is all .Leave a comment:

More from Dana:
Although White said the fight was close enough he wouldn't consider it 100 percent a win for Penn, he stuck to his opinion the fight should have gone to Penn.
And what he saw from Fitch was not enough to green-light him to the title.
"Fitch is one these guys that goes, 'Oh, I want my respect,'" White said. "He just fought a 155-pound guy and went to a draw with him and in my opinion, he lost the first two rounds -- and he's crying for a title shot?
"You've got to get in there and decisively beat people. You have to have fans clamoring for you to fight for the title."
you know Dana is only out to promote the UFC, why would anyone care who he thought won?
Dana is the only person I've seen say Penn should have won the fight . About 65% of the people I see say Fitch won and 35 % say a draw was fine,no one is saying Penn won from what I've read
Dana just doesnt like Fitch is all it is . Like him or not if GSP moves to 185 either boring Fitch or boring Shields will hold the beltLeave a comment:

I rewatched the fgiht ,BJ didnt win rd 2.He spent the first 2:30 of the round getting taken down and planted against the cage and spent the last 1:00 getting GnP on the floor .
The only thing BJ did in rd 2 was get a TD that he did nothing with and got reversed quickly, that doesnt win you a round imo
Dana is a disingenuous sack of shit who will always side against fighters like Machida and Fitch when talking about a decision.
I could have this wrong, but I think they said on Beatdwon after the Bell that they didn't have the same three judges for all the fights. I didn't realize they ever did things that way. It might explain some of the apparent inconsistencies.Leave a comment:

The half point system is totally gay. Explain how it can fix anything when the problem is the judges.Leave a comment:

The California MMA Athletic Organization debuted a half-point scoring system for the amateur bouts at the Diaz vs Cyborg event. This is basically a trial run to get it considered for pro bouts.
If it comes to be, it will fix a lot of these problems.Leave a comment:

Although yes, there could be a touch more clarity to those definitions.Leave a comment:

they really need to work on scoring guidelines because those are just too vague, someone with no idea what they are doing (any MMA judge) could go by those rules score round three 10-7. I mean you dont get much more dominate than 149-2 in striking and 3-0 in TD's in a rdLeave a comment:

Of course Dana is going to say he thought BJ won ,BJ is the more marketable fighter. Even BJ doesnt think BJ won ........that should tell ya somethingLeave a comment:
