Titan Fighting Championships 16 in Kansas City Jan 29th

Not sure this deserves its own thread but whatever

According to a Titan Fighting Championships press release, a featherweight match-up between WEC veteran LC Davis and Jared Downing will meet at Titan Fighting Championships 16. The event takes place on January 29th at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. A heavyweight fight between Todd Duffee and Abe Wagner will headline the evening.

LC Davis (16-4) is returning quickly to the cage after being released from the WEC just last month. Davis suffered his second consecutive loss in the promotion after losing a closely contested unanimous decision to Rafael Assuncao at WEC 52. Previous to the Assuncao fight, Davis was submitted by Josh Grispi shortly after the two-minute mark in the first round. Davis started his WEC venture on a much brighter note, winning his first three fights in the promotion. Victories over Javier Vasquez, Diego Nunes, and Deividas Taurosevicius had Davis' name in the mix for possible title contenders.

Jared Downing (4-0) heads into his bout with LC Davis coming off his biggest win of his young career, defeating Danny Tims by split decision at the Bellator Fighting Championships 32 last October. It was Downing's second victory under the Bellator banner, submitting Chad Vanderberg in his promotional debut. Downing fights out Cedar Rapids, Iowa at Team Hard Drive with fellow Bellator roster member, Steve Carl.

While it hasn't been officially announced by FEG, Todd Duffee has recently agreed to a heavyweight bout against K-1 and Strikeforce champ, Alistair Overeem on Dynamite!! 2010. People are already labeling it as his "impending sleep", as the 25-year-old took that fight on short notice and will be entering the bout as a huge underdog.

This makes his bout against Abe Wagner in jeopardy. Duffee is already scheduled to compete less than a month after Japan's New Year's Eve show, at Titan Fighting Championship 16, and with the good chance he is unable to headline the card, they already have a replacement fighter set. A source close to the fighter has informed BloodyElbow.com that former UFC champion, Tim Sylvia is already waiting in the wings to step in and headline TFC 16 against Wagner, as soon as the Duffee vs. Overeem bout becomes official.

Sylvia has had a slight fall from grace, coming in out-of-shape and uninterested, in a loss to Ray Mercer back in 2009, but he has picked it up and has racked up four straight victories since then. The two-time UFC heavyweight champion is looking to get back on the big show, and it looks like his next obstacle will be in the form of The Ultimate Fighter veteran, Abe Wagner.

I hear that Abe Wagner actually has some pretty sharp bjj, but Sylvia is a virtual lock to beat Wagner.
