I actually just went to buy the shirt but they are fucking out of my size, which pisses me off because I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on that one for a while, and then when I go to do it they don't have the shit.

If you guys are looking to others for your bets you should just stop betting imo. I may not win every bet but every bet is my play. How are you ever going to get better if you're always looking for someone else's opinion? If other guys opinions were so valuable they be rich off there own picks

Dont get me wrong I might read some breakdowns at sites if I get a chance but I'd never place a bet because of something someone else said or not place one because everyone else was picking the other side .Jusr thought I'd clear that up2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP

You know who I think would make great gamblers... economists. I fancy myself an amateur economist, and I even wrote my thesis on the law and economics. But I am shit compared to some of these guys, they can literally predict the future by looking at all possible outcomes and explanations for things.Comment

^^ like I said, i would never follow another guy's bets. But I do like to hear breakdowns from other people, just because it never hurts to have another opinion. I also liek to see what other people are betting, not so I can blindly follow, but just to get an idea of what someone else is thinking. Sometimes I will think "well, I bet a lot of guys think what he is thinking, I don't agree with that, so maybe there is some value on the other guy..." or sometimes, I say "yeah, and that it obvious, so everyone has probably already bet the value out of it." But I just like as much manageable info as possible. At some point, you have to narrow your sources down to a few though IMO.

Yeah. For one thing, they should definitely get the money management aspect of it down and at least have a decent handle on statistics and probability. If you look at non-fight-sports betting, I think most of the guys that can do it successfully are coming at it from a statistics base. As much as I think math is neat, one thing I like about MMA betting is that it's never going to be significantly quantifiable. You won't see people being broadly successful at betting without watching and understanding the fighters.Comment

I think we did. I mentioned that I thought an elo-like system for MMA would be a decent project and then someone here (zY?) showed me www.mma-elo.com. It's nice, and I wish they'd keep it more up-to-date, but you can see the flaws in the rankings. It's unlikely you would ever trust ELO over your own estimate when the two differ.
I think what we do here is more like finding value stocks. A good company that is underpriced, either because they have not been given the right opportunities or because they have had set backs. The difficulty is separating the good stocks from the irreparably damaged ones. Accomplishments only tell half of teh story, momentum and potential are equally relevant.Comment
