Although the opinion dealt specifically with lottery tickets, it opened the door for states to allow Internet poker and other forms of online betting that do not involve sports. Many states are interested in online gambling as a way to raise tax revenue.



Hate the government. Why is wagering on horses and poker okay but not sports?

Rich people who influence politicians is my guess. Pretty sure horse wagering is legal in every state but I could be wrong. All started in the 70s with the "interstate horseracing Act"

Plus sports betting gets a bad name(imo) from the mafia influence, bookies,fixed fights,point shaving, etc from back in the day
