Yeah I was thinking about this. Having a pet that you love seems like having a kid that you know you're probably going to outlive. The whole idea is almost a form of self-torture. It's certainly bittersweet, at least.

That's my issue too. I am not a big animal guy... I have a dog, I like him sometimes, mostly he pisses me off. But when he dies, I will definitely be very sad. And I will feel guilty for not playing with him more. I spend several years dealing his his shedding all over the house, picking up his poop, and paying for his food and vet bills. Then my reward is that as soon I get him trained and he chills a little, he dies and leaves me sad and guilty.

I can't imagine how I would feel if I actually liked animals.

The whole exercise just seems horrible and, like you said, kind of tortuous.

I already told you I live in Evansville, Indiana. I don't know a single person IRL that would watch that crap... and I don't think a commericial offering a prize is going to change that. Also, no one would recognize me since I am so svelt and sexy now.
