I hate to say it, but GSP actually sounds a lot like Tito did when he was asked if he was going to fight Liddell.

I think GSP nows he wont win. Didnt Silva say he'd meet him in the middle?

I think GSP has his doubts.

I think he actually stands an excellent chance of winning, though.

I dont . His size and reach will put him at a big disadvantage imo. It will be hard for him to outstike Silva because of Silva's length and height and it will be hard for him to takedown Silva and keep him there like Sonnen did because he'll be the smaller man. Of course I could be wrong on both accounts but thats just how I see it

I think GSP's takedowns and top control are so supernaturally good, and Silva's TDD is bad enough, that GSP can get it done.

Plus, GSP's sub defense is much better than Sonnen's so I doubt he gets caught in a last minute triangle.

I agree with you an SPX when he says that "I think GSP's takedowns and top control are so supernaturally good, and Silva's TDD is bad enough, that GSP can get it done.

The bottom line: It is a risky fight for GSP. He can lose, he can win. Why bother? He can stay at 170 and be the undefeatable champ.

                      Brian Fantanna nailed it.

I think so too ZY, he can do what Sonnen did only better, he has the BJJ, he has the striking. GSP takes it.

It seems like GSP would want to take the fight purely out of boredom. It would be his first truly big challenge in years.

I think he wants to do it, I bet we see his attitude change after he crushes Shields. He just doesn't like to look past opponents.

I look at GSP, Machida, and Aldo as the 3 closest things to locks on one card I have seen in awhile.

I am going to Vegas and placing fairly large bets on Menjivar and Bocek, and then rolling any winnings into 4 parlays...GSP-Aldo, GSP- Machida, Machida-Aldo, and GSP-Aldo-Machida.

After I hit those(knock on wood), I am going to lay a quarter of the winnings on the Manny-Mosley under.

I might copy you here on your parlays. I have been considering the GSP/Aldo/Machida bet, but I really have some hesitation about betting all 3 in a parlay. If I bet 1u on each GSP/Aldo + GSP/Machida + Aldo/Machida and win all 3, you get a little better than 1.5u back (-200). But if any one of them loses, you are going to lose 1.5u... basically it is a hedge against any one of them losing.

Damnit, I don't know. I feel like there is money to be made here, but I can't figure out a way to bet it that I feel good about.
