That's my thing too I guess. I have a job where I can work as little or as much as I want. I spend a lot of time looking at these cards. And even if I became wildly successful, it would still be less money than I would make given an equivalent time working. The flip side of that is that this is fun for me, and is actually what I do with my down time... So it really isn't the same.Up 12 units isn't bad I guess. It's a better return than you will get with a stock broker. My only problem is my bankroll is only about 2k so if I come ahead 500 bucks for the year I am making like 50 cents an hour to do this. I might as well get a part time job at night, I can def make more doing that.
Anyway, I just need to get back on the horse and be much tighter about my steep favorites.2012: +19.33

1-2 million? Really? I guess your idea of "earning an income" and mine are different.
I've actually considered shifting my focus to certain smaller financial goals, like make it my next goal to win enough to get a car or pay off a credit card or buy a 50" TV or whatever it may be.
This is pretty much where I'm at right now. The entire process is much too slow.I heart cockComment

You'll remember I said in a post a while back that after I broke it down I realized that virtually all of the money I made last year was from underdogs. I was only like a unit ahead FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR on favorites. I was shocked.I heart cockComment

Rare actual gambling talk from zY. . .Honestly I gave up a long time ago.
I feel I have solid insight and analysis, but I'm way too lazy and don't give enough of a shit to do the research required, keep records, size a bankroll, etc., as sad as that sounds. I'll still hop on the fights I feel I have a good handle on (ie: some main events/high profile), but I really just don't care enough.I heart cockComment

1-2 million? How much do you need a year to be making a living? 10 percent of that is 100-200k1 unit = 300 $Comment

I have 2 kids and a wife... I am not going to put them through a lifestyle downgrade so I can gamble for a living. It is my demon, if I want to do it, I need to make as much as I do "working". Not bragging, but that is just how it is.
But that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing. Multiple streams of income. I would like it to become a reliable source of passive income, that's really all I can hope for.2012: +19.33

yeah, I still have done the best overall in the -200 to -300 range. i just need to be more careful. In the old days I would never have laid 3:1 on a fighter like Clementi. I am just going to be more careful and make fewer bets. I still believe money is there to be made on all line ranges, but you have to make your bets more wisely than I have been. My point is if I am going to go around slinging bets, I definitely can't be doing it on favorites. I will probably start betting some dogs to keep myself occupied while I wait for my favorites bets to come along. That is the real issue, I am just betting wily nily on favorites without really pinning it down.2012: +19.33

I think you would be fine with a 20u bankroll. If it is not imperative that your bankroll last forever, I think you are being too conservative with a 50u bankroll.2012: +19.33
