LOL! I had no idea what Nate Marquardt was busted for years back. Another bad beat...although it was considered a steroid due to the substance, the stuff he was taking was legal over the counter supplements. I've heard about these...I guess LOTS of people used to take this stuff, just regular people as well who liked working out. I am willing to bet that the substance he took back then is a huge factor in why his natural testosterone levels are low right now. Actually, I think that is probably a lock.

Yeah, but it was prescribed. His natural levels were lower than baseline so to get to baseline he was allowed to get HRT as long as it was cleared by the commission, which it was...but his levels got too high since his levels were so low/his testosterone was increased by the DOCTOR and his baseline levels got a little too high so he had to wait for them to come back down. Nate's big irresponsibility was not getting more frequent blood tests.
Lol ,by those excuses fighters with smaller muscles and less cardio should be able to get roids also .2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP

umm no. That is a dumb statement. Any fighter that actually suffers from low testosterone is able to get HRT if prescribed, as long as he stays within normal ranges that the athletic commission allows, he can use the stuff. Smaller muscles and cardio have nothing to do with a person's testosterone levelsComment

So cliffs:
-New Jersey allowed Marquardt to be on HRT due to his low levels for UFC 128
-New Jersey wanted Marquardt to be off of HRT for ?8-10? weeks, take a test, and see if he has been cured after UFC 128
-Marquardt was not cured after those weeks, still had very low levels when off of HRT.
-Doctor put him back on HRT
-Marquardt's levels shot up a little bit too high
-Marquardt had to come off once he found out his levels shot up a little too high, and had to hope that his levels came to normal by weigh in day.
-The day after the fight, Marquardt's levels were normal
So basically Marquardt was allowed to be on HRT this whole time, but his doctor gave him too much a few weeks before UFC on Versus 4Last edited by poopoo333; 06-28-2011, 01:39 PM.Comment

HRT lowers your natural testosterone levels doesn't it? As in, you go off TRT and your body no longer produces Testosterone at the level it did before you went on it. Sounds like a bad idea to me. Sounds dangerous honestly. I could see using it for a short amount of time.
On that note, I have a question PP. If you go on TRT and then go off it, do you lose the muscle you gained while on it? Or will your body maintain the muscle regardless of how low your T drops after you come off?1 unit = 300 $Comment

Not a bad beat. Marquart is a clown, good riddance.Wow, what a bad beat for Marquardt. His doctor had him on HRT, and his levels were real low like 4 weeks out from the fight, so the doctor upped his dose and then close to the fight Marquardt's levels were higher than the required amount allowed so he had to come off of his treatment and wait for his levels to come down and his levels didn't come down low enough. That kind of sucks.2012: +19.33

read again..........You act like its just fine for someone with low testerone to get roids because low testerone puts them at an disadvantage .......well why shouldnt someone with bad cardio or small muscles be able to get roids also ? Bad cardio or smaller muscles put fighters at a disadvanage and roids would help them. Why is it ok to help one person at an disadvantage but not another?umm no. That is a dumb statement. TRT raises them to normal levels. You go on HRT because your body isn't producing the testosterone it needs. When going off of TRT there is more than likely going to be a drop off in the testosterone since the person needed it in the first place. It sounds dangerous to you because you don't know the difference between people using TRT and people using testosterone illegally and on their own with limited knowledge.HRT lowers your natural testosterone levels doesn't it? TRT isn't used to gain muscle like actually using a heavy dosed cycle of testosterone is. But if you use a heavy dosed cycle of testosterone and do not do the proper protocol when coming off (google post cycle therapy), yes you will lose your muscle and your body's insides will more than likely get fucked up and stop producing natural testosterone on it's ownComment
