I honestly don't want to see a Fitch/Penn rematch at this point.

I'd rather see Penn fight Alves or Ellenberger or something. Or maybe Diego again, this time at WW.

I am surprised to see Sot/Dunham fighting since they are two prospects coming off of losses. But then again, the LW division is so stacked right now they need to send more people "down the ladder". I would probably pick Dunham to win this

My biggest issue, really, is throwing Penn straight into the WW deep end immediately. Let him fight a few fights to get his legs under him at 170. Then consider putting him in title contention.

Penn/Fitch 2 makes sense, none of those do, especially Sanchez. Ellenberger struggled vs Rocha, andhas no name value. And Alves is fighting Story.

I don't think it makes sense to blast Penn this early. Let him transition into WW, not just dive into the deep end by fighting the #2 WW in the world. Give him some fights that are very winnable, let him get a few Ws at 170, while adjusting to the new weight class.

i agree, but after the first fight, this is the only thing that makes sense.

The first fight was a mistake and should've never happened, at least not this early. I had a bad feeling about it from the beginning. When Diego went down to LW, they obviously wanted him to fight for the title, but they gave him Stevenson first. It's not like they had him fight Maynard or Florian right off the bat.

I hope Fitch gets injured and someone else ends up filling in.

Stevenson was still top 5 by then. Also, BJ is a former champion at Welterweight, it would make no sense to give him filler when he held the belt once.

There can be a big gap between the #5 and the #2 guy. I'm not saying "filler." I didn't suggest that he fight Joe Doerksen.

Neither of us can accurately speak to his motivations nor his contract. Just speculating.
