Also forgot to mention I recently rewatched Cruz/Jorgenson and Jorgenson was able to sweep cruz from the bottom, and even had the opportunity to take his back a time or two as Cruz was getting up. If he gives up his back to Faber I see him getting choked out....

I'm a Faber fan and think he's an awesome fighter, but I think he's on the downward slope of his career. He's not quite as fast as he used to be and the overall level of competition has increased in the lighter weight classes. He was run out of the FW division for that very reason.
I don't understand what you mean when you say that Faber has fought much better competition than Cruz. He's beaten some good guys, but his best wins in the WEC were Pulver (we know the situation there, sadly), Assuncao, Mizugaki, Wineland and Cruz himself. Cruz's best wins are Benavidez (x2), Bowles and Scott Jorgensen. I think the competition level is pretty comparable, with Benavidez and Bowles probably being better than anyone Faber has ever beaten (except for Cruz himself, of course).
If we just look at their recent performances, Urijah dropped rounds to both Assuncao and Wineland before figuring out how to win. His performance against Mizugaki was impressive, though I thought Miz was actually winning on the feet before the choke.
Cruz on the other hand, with the exception of the relatively close rematch with Benavidez, has been totally dominating his opponents.
I actually think Cruz is somewhat Machida-esque in his ability to float in, strike, and get out of range. Dude is like a ghost. And when it does turn into a wrestling match, he pretty much always ends up on top.I heart cockComment

Jorgensen may have had a moment here or there, but that fight was a massacre. At no point was Cruz in any trouble whatsoever. Also forgot to mention I recently rewatched Cruz/Jorgenson and Jorgenson was able to sweep cruz from the bottom, and even had the opportunity to take his back a time or two as Cruz was getting up. Bader is highly overratted, his mms wrestling is not that good, his standup isn't good, he does have power though, and he's a gasser. War Ortiz.Comment

I was using that example to show Cruz's less than stellar groundgame which also happens to be Fabers strong suit. Could you see Cruz going 5 rounds with Aldo? I don't think he'd make it out of the first honestly. Aldo, Curran, Mizugaki, Assuncao, MTBx2, and Wineland ain't too shabby though you I could see making an argument for Cruz with Bowles, Jorgenson and Benevidez.
This fight seems like a pickem with one guy being a much better finisher with better wrestling credentials and ground game and he's also at +odds. Faber has more ways to win the fight and one of his strong suits happens to be one of Cruz's weaker areas.Comment

Cruz wouldn't last one round with Aldo.
