I went ahead and dropped 3u to win 1.57u on Askren/Hieron. I think Thompson can present some problems for Askren, but Askren has shown he can avoid submissions, which is Thompson's main threat. Thompson also has the edge standing, but he doesn't have the power of someone like Lyman Good or the reach of a Dna Hornbuckle... I don't see any way Thompson can keep this on the feet to win it. He pretty much has to catch a submission, and Askren is working hard on his ground game and I think he can avoid it.

Weedman is a top control guy that is going to be on his back. Hieron should also have an edge standing. I feel fine about Hieron's line. I really think Askren should be a little lower... but Thompson is pretty much just taking paychecks at this point. He has lost 3 straight and went from being a LW to a MW, now back to WW.

I think Woodard could give Chandler some trouble... I might throw down a small play there. I think his line will creep up, so I am going to wait.

            Is Askren/Thompson a 5 rounder?

It is not for the title, so I think it is a 3-round fight.

How is Carey Vanier's wrestling compared to Mike Chandler's?

I'm just thinking that Vanier had to work hard as a motherfucker to take Woodward down, and even then he couldn't really keep him there. And if Chandler can't get Woodward down, what then? Who's striking is better?

Also, Woodard has fought much stiffer competition, it seems. Not only does he have more pro fights, but he has more wins over experienced competition with winning records. Most of Chandler's guys are like 2-3 or some shit like that. Held was the exception.

I wasn't impressed with vanier's wrestling very much. Woodard did a good job stuffing the takedowns, but I think chandler is more tenacious in his pursuit of the td and has the right mentality to be successful in mma. He was put in a pretty tight kneebar against held and didn't look like he even considered tapping. His standup game seem's to pack the threat that is necessary to acquire takedowns consistently.
