I've mostly heard stories about pro play and about how if you start winning too much then they'll cut your limits.

Honestly if anyone was winning too much online in a book for MMA I think any book would start trying to raise the vig any way possible because MMA is still a relatively new thing for betting purposes. There isn't near the exact science on it to formulating the lines like there is for Football, Baseball, or even other combat sports like Boxing or K-1. There is a ton of guess work involved on making these lines and even then upsets happen. A good example is Tito Ortiz being a +450 dog against a -550 Ryan Bader and finishing him in under 3 minutes, or Werdum beating Fedor last year. Linemakers are definitely starting to wise up to some things like wrestlers often getting the nod in decisions and such and the lines reflect that, but there is still money to be made and cheaply compared to more history having and established sports.

what r u guys take on Rivera-philippou fight n where the odds should be? i will bet on phillippou bc Rivera is at the end of his mma career n theres a good chance phillipou will beat him.

Rivera is game..he can hit hard and he has been around a while. I don't know much about Phillip but he looks to be new and young..Rivera can beat those kinda guys.

I agree. I also don't know much about Phillpou, but after doing just a bit of research, he doesn't seem that good. I mean, he didn't even win his fight to get into the TUF house. He does have a win over Uriah Hall though, and Hall is supposed to be pretty decent.

the thing that makes me like Phillippou in this fight is the style match up. Phillipou's losses were to guys who took him to the ground. Rivera likes to stand and trade so Phillipou wont have to worry about the ground game too much with Rivera. it's a fist fight and Phillipou seems to have a fast right cross. He might catch Rivera by surprise. Also Rivera is 39. that's old. He will probably look good in the 1st round but gonna slow down if the fight gets to the 2nd and 3rd.
