    Gambling in Costa Rica

I have been doing some research about living in Costa Rica lately. It's not something I see myself doing anytime soon but it is a really enticing fantasy as I imagine you would all agree. According to my research so far, it is not out of the realms of possibility. Living in Costa Rica is really cheap. Someone like myself could probably get by living a nice life on 1,000 - 2,000 dollars a month. The per capita income is about 10k a year, up from 7k a year in 2009. It is one of the highest rated countries in the world in terms of environment and it is probably the safest country in central america. They also have a million casinos, but they are cracking down on them a little bit. I found a website that has a great amount of information about CR. http://www.therealcostarica.com/

I am not sure yet but if I had 10k disposable cash I could probably live in Costa Rica for a considerable amount of time. This would also be a sweet place to retire if anyone on here is approaching that. I am not sure what amount of MMA betting is available in casinos nor do I know betting maximums. I would think it would be reasonable though, most of the sites we use are based out of Costa Rica.

If I didn't have a family, I would definitely consider moving to Costa Rica. They say Uruguay is the lowest cost of living in a non 3rd world country.

I can earn a living at my computer online, so I have actually talked with my wife about just going nomadic with the family until we get sick of it. I would probably go to Brazil first, just because I know a lot of people there (because of bjj) and I know what to expect.

I used to peruse www.escapeartist.com all the time before I had kids. If you haven't checked it out, it has overseas jobs and real estate as well as a slew of articles about going expat in each country.

lol. Yeah, I just pull out my pork and the dollars come rolling in...

No, I work for a website online where I just sit around and answer legal questions all day. I don't make that much money at it now, but that is because I don't spend a lot of time on there. I make about $30k right now just doing that for a couple hours a day (in addition to my regular job). In the past I have tested it out for a few weeks to see how much I could make- I could easily make enough to support my family. But the down side to me is that it is a straight up time for money proposition. I am not building anything- I just swap my time for money... which is not very appealing to me for the long term.

I was basically testing the waters on this kind of thing when I went to Guatemala for 2 months. I was in a nice area--Antigua, basically the tourist capital of the place, with cobblestone streets and preserved church ruins and shit--and it was an interesting experience, but I can honestly say that it wasn't long before I was ready to get on back to the good ol' US of A. That pretty much killed any desire I have to traipse off to a third-world country and live the ex-pat lifestyle.

I know... that is why it appeals. I could literally about 10 hours a week and just chill the rest of the time. My wife is sort of on board, but we just worry about healthcare for the kids and fucking their little worlds up beyond repair. In my mind, I know that it will be fine... but still.

They are not in school yet, so time is ticking. Once they are in school, it will become a lot more complicated. Also, I have teh fact of my practice which I have spent a lot of time and money building.

Ah to be young and carefree like you.

lol. My penis is tiny. I get it.

In all seriousness, when you think about a woman actually subscribing to a porn cam... you realize what ridiculous and disgusting creatures we men are.

When I think about women that want to subscribe to a porn cam I think that I would like to date them because they would be freaky.

That could be true but anyways, back on topic. SPX that is pretty cool that you lived in Guatemala for 2 months. I am impressed with you. Did you gamble at all there?

No, no gambling. High points were climbing a couple of volcanoes and doing coke with this Danish guy I met.

                            Here are some photos:
