I don't think I remember seeing Diaz hit too many sweeps. He's more of a "dangerous from anywhere so sweeps aren't as necessary" type grapplers.

He had penty of time to work on Daley and he couldn't do shit. He has been pinned down by a bunch of guys in the past. He is only winning now because he hasn't fought a single grappler since leaving the UFC. His bjj is good, but nowhere near good enough for GSP.

I agree regarding Fitch and Kos being virtually unbeatable, but I'm still not sure about Alves. I could see Story or possibly Ellenberger beating him via wrestling. I could maybe see Kampmann taking him down and outgrappling him to a decision as well. We'll see what happens this weekend. If Alves blows through Story then yeah, he's probably the third part of the trinity.

Kampmann would get lit the hell up by Alves. He's too aggressive, too big to avoid that way, and uses leg kicks too well to set up his shots. He would press Kampmann alot more than Diego did and when Kampmann gets pushed into a corner he fights stupid, and sometimes gets knocked the fuck out. It would look alot like the Marquardt fight if he fought Alves.

Well that's why I said he would take him down and outgrapple him to a decision.

I don't know that Kampmann is necessarily capable of outgrappling Alves.

Well I don't KNOW either. I just said that I feel like it's a possibility. We were talking about guys who MIGHT possess the necessary skill to beat Alves.

                    Alves would crush Kampmann

He didn't "crush" John Howard . . . and Kampmann will beat Howard as soundly as Alves did.

Yeah, you're right. Those gifs clearly show that he was just CRUSHED!!!!!

Look, I had money on Alves and he clearly won a decision, but he didn't "crush" the motherfucker. Nor did he destroy, annihilate or obliterate him.

He crushed him. He completely outclassed him and made it apparent Howard is nowhere near his level.

Yes he did, Howard is tough to finish, Kampmann isnt. Alves would finish Kampmann. Shit, Howard connects, he finishing Kampmann.

Well I maintain that to use such a hyperbolic word as "crushed" is a misuse of the English language.

If that's "crushing" someone, then what did Cain do to Rothwell?

I am saddened that these days any unambiguous decision is considered destruction.
