Bad standup by Big John. Dramatic though. If I had been betting then, I probably would have had a lot on Koscheck and been super-pissed, just like Sonnen-Silva.

Tell me about Kawajiri and Fickett. Considering Kawajiri here. Fickett seems to have given up on being a serious fighter and is just going around fighting now... but he has some pretty solid grappling skills. I favor Kawajiri for sure, but convince me I should break my no Japan rule here.

Well I assume it's tonight because they already weighed in. Fickett was two lbs over and had to cut the extra weight

This is how I see it:

Fickett is primarily a grappler but has shown some weakness against people who like to be on top (Kawajiri) in Lentz and Koscheck (up until that stand up/knee). He was on his back more than a porn star with a mortgage. Kawajiri is a top control guy and fighters like JZ Calvacante and Josh Thomson had nothing for him. Kawajiri's only losses are against top 10 guys like Aoki, Alvarez, and Melendez. Kawajiri lost to then top 10 Gomi in 2005, and his other losses were in 2000 and 2002 against Ribeiro and some Japanese guy. On the other hand Fickett went 4-8 in 2008/2009.. then he did that Shine Fights tournament in which he won and everybody said he was back...but looking at that, it went something like this: he subbed krazy horse who has had 16 losses by sub, subbed Bermudez (a relatively new guy in MMA with a wrestling background that got RNC'd 2 months later by a can at around 2 minutes into the 1st round just like against Fickett), and then subbed Prater, whom had lost his previous fight in the tournament that same night where he was visibly tired which had to have an effect on him that night. Prater ended up fighting two full fights before fighting Fickett where Fickett got in and out of there in 2 minutes against favorable opponents. So I am not sure if Fickett is exactly "back" because of that one night.

Oh, and it's fucking Kawajiri. You really think Fickett is going to sub Kawajiri? I think that's his only way out.

Oh, and Fickett took this fight on like a weeks notice. He is probably out of shape, jet lagged, and has been busy getting happy endings by the masseuse.

Lets not forget ficketts last match either. Dude had mount for about 3 minutes, then gets reversed and pounded out inside of 30 seconds from the guard. No big shots or anything, just kind of gave up once he couldn't get cobb to quit. Embarrassing to watch.

I wanna know the records between japs and americans when a fight goes to decision in dream. Basically does fickett need a finish to get the W tonight?
