I can't decide if Hendo owes the guy who talked him into fighting for the last two rounds a beer or a cockpunch.

Well he might have trouble holding him down. He can also get caught standing. Hendo can knock anyone out withe one punch.

If Hendo goes down, he typically stays down. Rampage, Shields, Rua... they all held him down at length. He could of course KO Jones with his right, but he is giving up quite a bit of reach. I just think it is a tough matchup and that Jones would be good to -400 for sure. I think Machida has as good a shot as anyone. I mean so far, he has won every second of every round that I have seen... if Machida gets dominated too, I think we might be settling in for a long haul with Jones.

Probably so. I guess we'll have a new GSP/Silva situation in LHW.

Cruz, Edgar, and Aldo might end up reigning for a while as well, provided Aldo doesn't go to 155 (which he probably will).

And fuck, JDS might be champ for a while, too.

I think Edgar can be beaten by any number of guys... not that they woulbe favored, but I expect him to lose sometime in the next few fights.

I think JDS will lose sooner as well, just too many guys with big power to last too long at HW, but yeah, he has beaten strikers and wrestlers and brawlers, so he could be there a while.

Cruz has some solid tools, it will have to be a very good wrestler or possible a submission whiz with better hands than him. There are no great wrestlers in that division, so he may be there a while.

I think Aldo may get beat by Mendes. If not, he might go up to 55 and I think he could beat Edgar.

Bendo/Edgar is interesting...if Edgar wins I see him being champ for awhile.

I would probably pick Cain in a rematch over JDS to be honest...but there are no HW contenders at all...Brock/Carwin/Overeem/Cain...who else is even close? Mir? Bring over Cormier.

Cruz will be champ for awhile if he beats Faber again.

Aldo's toughest 145 test is Mendes imo.

If GSP beats Diaz (which he probably should but hopefully not), he will be champ for awhile.

Nobody will beat Silva @ MW except Chael Sonnen.

I agree about Edgar, a lot of guys can beat him. In fact, I think Bendo might.
                Cain/JDS I have no idea.
I thought Faber beat Cruz the first time, Cruz only landed more shots. Faber landed the hard ones. I'll take him in a rematch at good dog odds.
Mendes can def wrestle Aldo if Kenny could do it in round 1. Aldo can always drop him though.

Faber tapped Cruz out the first time. This will be their 3rd fight.

The thing about Cain/JDS that I didn't realize until the fight started and ended up being a huge factor is that JDS is really fucking fast for a HW. Cain is pretty fast himself so I thought it would cancel out but he just looked slow in comparison, so JDS was able to set up counters easily. I still think Cain can beat him but he's got to drag the fight out longer, and to do that he needs to drastically improve his boxing defense, which seems to be his weakness. His offense is great but he leaves himself open quite a bit when attacking, and that's deadly against a technician like Junior dos Santos.

                        Agreed.

I'd love to see Hendo break his jaw, though.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos is flirting with the idea of making a run at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to test his boxing skills against the world's most talented amateurs. Good/bad idea?

Yeah, that's about as realistic as GSP winning a gold medal in wrestling.

If he took his already-solid skills and then focused on nothing but boxing for 4ish years I think he'd actually do respectably.
