UFC 141 Ubereem vs Brock 12/30

I knew there was some static between Zuffa and Golden Glory (though I've never understood why), but I figured there had to be more to it. Like, Overeem would need a better reason considering he's gone this long without the UFC.

If I remember right the conflict between the UFC and Golden Glory is that Golden Glory wants to be paid directly by the UFC and thats not how it works with the Athletic Commissions in the US. They are required to disclose the fighter pay to the AC and pay the fighters directly.

Hmm. If that's the case then it seems that Golden Glory would realize it just couldn't be done. I mean, how did it work before SF was bought by Zuffa? I assume it had to work the same way.

If you look at Overeem's last three fights, his opponents just looked terrified of him. Brock and Rogers were much more tentative than they had ever looked in the past, and while Werdum was able to land some punches on the feet, he clearly didn't really want to be anywhere in the cage with Overeem except on his back. I think Overeem's got a real psychological advantage in there.

That said, I doubt JDS is the type of guy to be intimidated, especially after he handled Carwin and Cain.

We'll never REALLY know until they fight each other, but I think JDS might actually be more technical and I also feel like he has probably has better cardio. If the fight goes into the third, fourth or fifth round then I definitely think that favors JDS.

You have to favor Reem's clinch game, but I think JDS has better cardio and better striking defense. Overeem has been knocked out quite a few times.

I'll also give JDS the edge in takedown defense and Overeem probably has a large advantage on the ground, but I think the fight will stay standing.
