Hi I'm new to the board and new to MMA betting in general (aside from that time I was in Vegas and was caught up in gambling fever and stupidly put money on McLovin' against Daley!). Found out about the site through MMAScientist's blog, I used to train a lot in MMA before I finished school and started working. However, as soon as I finish my time overseas I will probably start training again when I go back to my home in Canada. I believe that while a lot of guys train in MMA are too dumb to really understand it I think it's given me an advantage in breaking down fights. Looking at things from the perspective of a fighter I think has its benefits when you're not in that fighter's shoes, since the fighter himself will believe any lie that will keep his dream of being a champion alive. I can look at more nuanced aspects of a fighter's game to look for advantages that perhaps the sportsbook people don't have. Of course, I have no proven track record in picking fights because I generally don't do it, but I look forward to breaking down all fight footage I can find in the hopes of making some cash. I haven't been following MMA like I used to (I have been watching since 2003 or so) but the idea of making bank gives me incentive to watch more fights.
I watch a lot of sports but MMA is the only one that I feel comfortable enough with to put money on, so I will probably not post in any of the other forums hence why I posted this intro here. Maybe later if I develop a gambling problem but I doubt it.
Cheers.
