This fight still makes no sense from Johnson's perspective. The only things I came up with are:

1. Dana promised him next crack at the Sonnen-Silva winner if he gets a win

or

2. He's getting a big check and Dana told him if he loses he can go back to 170 and still keep in spot in line for GSP

Well they definitely need to find a couple of legit opponents for Silva. There is, of course, Sonnen. But other than him, the only guy who I could see them trying to hype is Cung Le, and he at least needs to beat Wanderlei and get a couple of more wins.

I don't think Le would win, but there's not really anyone else. Stann just got shut down by Sonnen. Marquardt's gone. Munoz . . . no. Maia and Belfort have already gotten their chance. Bisping . . . lol.

I guess they could bring Rockhold over and do a champ vs champ match.
