I actually think Rory is really close, but the situation at WW is different. Ellenberger is the clear #1 contender in the division. After he fights Condit and the winner fight's GSP, I wouldn't mind seeing Rory propped up as the next guy in line provided he can pick up another win in the meantime.

Maynard could be an interesting challenge for him at some point. I'd also like to see Melendez/Henderson, but given what I saw last night I might have to favor Bendo. How do you see that one playing out?

It's occurred to me that maybe these top LWs are all so good and closely matched that anyone can beat anyone else on any given night.

I thought about maynard as well, but he's fallen in love with his striking and Bendo is threatening off his back. Maynard would pose a significant threat though. In the end, I think Bendo would outwork him and present too tough of a pace to match.

Maynard hasn't even fought since getting KOd in his last title fight. I think he's been dropped significantly down the ladder. He'll need at least 3 wins before even being considered again.

A loss to the champ and you need 3 wins to get to the title but a loss to Guida and you only need 2 non top 10 wins?

              Cool story bro .

Yea x, 3 is a lot from a guy with only 1 loss.

Of course, if you're a top-control wrestler, Zuffa will probably require you to have 1-2 more wins than a similarly accomplished striker.

I think we need to start remembering that there is a distinction between close fight and controversial decision. Landing takedowns you do nothing at all with count for nothing. When you can't even kick out a leg while holding the other leg in the air is about the time your shit has nothing on it.

Man this is your M.O. these days. You make some anger-ific comment and when someone presents a different view you get salty and make it personal or go all extreme to the other end of the spectrum like it somehow still makes sense.

This fight had plenty of close rounds, but it was nowhere near as close as some of Edgar's other fights to date.

Forgot that I'm taking to fans not people that look at things from a common sense point of view. My apologies.
