    Cool story bro .

The main thing to look at here is that he got two title shots in a row and they were his last two fights. Maynard had his chance. He drew one fight and then got knocked out. It's somebody else's turn. It's not like LW is a weak division and there's a NEED to throw the same guys at the champ over and over again. The only real problem is that a lot of the guys who would be in line just took losses--Miller, Guillard, Cerrone, Guida--or they're not in the UFC (Melendez).

But I still think that Pettis, Diaz or possibly even an Edgar rematch would make more sense at this point than Maynard.

Besides, y'all act like 3 wins is a ton. In my opinion, barring injuries, a real pro fights 3x a year anyway. Guys like Kos and Bendo do it right.

So nobody since 2009 other than the current champion. Awesome suggestion, truly a quality contribution.

And both those guys already fought for the title and aren't in the division anymore. So I guess it has to be Roger Huerta or Tyson Griffin.

Pettis already beat Bendo. He also had a great knockout and a lot of people would tune in. I guess I am stating the obvious though. That said, I think Bendo wins this time. Who else would be a good fight for Bendo? Other than Edgar.

I think it will be Pettis and then a rematch with Edgar.

Well where does Diaz fall in? His demolition of Cerrone was impressive.

Also, I think that--despite a few missteps--Dunham be a worthy title challenger within a year or so.

And if he could get his shit together and string together 3 or so wins, Guillard should not be forgotten.

None of those guys should be close. Diaz will need at least 2 more wins. His run at WW was not good and he is around 3 and 3 in his last 6 at lw. Cerrone is a good win, Gomi is not, miller would be a great win, and hed probably need another after that.

Id put edgar in front of him for sure, same with aldo if he moved up. Its all a moot point tho cause miller will beat him.

Dunham might be able to enter into the picture if he passes the next test against Barboza he can get a fight against a real contender and see what happens. Guillard just lost two in a row, I think it's safe to say he's out of the title picture for the time being until he posts at least 3 or 4 quality wins up.

There are several guys that are a fight or two away. Pettis is the obvious choice here and now though. Bendo kicked Edgar's ass, I don't think it was controversial at all, unless you are using olympic boxing scoring.

2 wins sounds pretty close to me. That could be knocked out in 6 months if he really wanted to.

Well I did say he would need 3 wins or so. Let's say he rematched Lauzon and smashed him, then beat Diaz, then beat . . . oh, I dunno . . . Maynard. You could certainly make a case for him, especially if no one else seemed like the obvious choice.

Wrong. Bendo landed an upkick, and a cpl good shots in the the latter half of the fight. Edgar arguably won rds 1,2,3 and 5. 2nd, 3rd and 5th rds were close. 2nd and 5th rds bendo simply did work the last 10 seconds, but the other 4:50 was all edgar.
