    #2
    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #3
#6 Easy Seven Tough for me to split this top pair with some similar tracking trips waiting for them both, but this one should be a decent price on the rise while racing fresh. Worth a look at this level right now -- confident comeback spot?
#4 Mayfly Think she can be tough from just off the pace while getting a few forward players drawn inside of her. Price will be shorter than the top choice, but she might dunk on these.
#2 Double Airo She can be a handful here if she handles the local footing, but that's at least a mild question mark today. The form on paper fits, and she might get a great first-over trip tracking the rail pace.
Race Summary Easy Seven comes back off the bench in allowance company which is at least a little bit of a good sign after putting things together in a couple cheaper spots to end her 2024 campaign.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #4
#1 Practically Given Front end should be there for literally anyone who wants it in this spot, and the rail draw coupled with a bit of positional pace should give this guy every chance to have some fun up top.
#7 Mr. Colossal He at least flashed a little bit of modest pace in one lifetime start, so he might be able to find a good spot while in touch with the top choice throughout.
#5 Missionary Man Would want him on the tickets -- his two best career races both came here, and he looks like one of the main dangers late.
Race Summary Practically Given can probably be quick enough to find the front today in a paceless spot, and there isn't a whole lot on paper in this special weight race.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #8
#5 Magic Life She's going to take some cash, but she's meeting a pretty dull bunch and brings some super-reliable local form with her on paper. Baseline stuff should do -- may not need to overthink this one.
#4 Wild Looker Wouldn't argue too hard with anyone taking a look here, as her local form has been sharp enough to think she has room to wake up here. Still think the top choice is going to hit hard, but there is some appeal here.
#1 La Tourista She might like the new scenery, and some of those Parx races are solid enough to think she can play with this group if she likes the new footing.
Race Summary Magic Life should be a handful with this crew, and she ran well fresh here last season -- looks likely to handle this crew.

      #3
      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Parx - Race #2
#3 STREETS OF PARIS (3-1) Catch her if you can on cutback in distance against dreadful field.
#5 MOPSY (5-2) Late foot in ‘key’ debut race, grinded to win at 7F in second go-round.
#2 STAY OPPORTUNISTIC (12-1) Close up in improved try off bullet workout, fits on best.
Race Summary STREETS OF PARIS could be long gone on the front end in a field that is a combined 6-for-131. She led by a city block and held safe to break her maiden going a route of ground two back. She broke last, tugged her way within range of the 1-to-5 pace setter and wilted in the stretch last out for a $12,500 tag. Bet to win and place on today’s Best Bet and play a 3/2,5/ALL trifecta.
      Parx - Race #6
#3 LEILAUNI SUE (7-2) Got the jump, caught by closers, looms forward factor long way in long sprint.
#5 CHAMPAGNE MISCHIEF (2-1) Pressed the winning favorite in the slop but tired in her debut.
#6 DADOO (5-2) Stakes-placed as 2yo, must stay in closer contact early with blinkers on again.
Race Summary LIELAUNI SUE faced solid Maiden Special Weight rivals at Oaklawn Park before she ran third at Parx. She got first run on the late-running top pair but finished willingly. Like her chances if she avoids a front-end battle with morning-line favorite CHAMPAGNE MISCHIEF at 7F today. Bet to win and place and play 3-5 and 3-6 exactas.
      Parx - Race #7
#6 NO NO JOE (2-1) No breathers in 3-path, drew even with fave, fought on to the wire to finish third.
#2 TWENTYEIGHTTOTHREE (9-2) Piling up the checks, steps up off the claim, field is 3-31 at 6-1/2F.
#3 JD FACTOR (9-5) Hard ridden, squeezed on turn, shut down on rail in stretch, Ness takes over.
Race Summary NO NO JOE raced 3-wide throughout for a high-percentage claim barn, tried the winning favorite twice but settled for a game third at 6F. He conquered this distance in the race prior and sheds 5 pounds with a change of rider. Bet to win and place.

            Race 3 - Claiming - 6.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $8000 Class Rating: 65

FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NOT WON A RACE IN 2025 OR WHICH HAVE NOT WON TWO RACES IN 2024 - 2025. THREE YEAR OLDS, 118 LBS.; OLDER, 126 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE FEBRUARY 20 ALLOWED 2 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $4,000.
            RECOMMENDED CHOICES

            # 5 PRANCIPANTS 3/1
            # 6 ABBMAR 4/1
TIME BREAK is my choice. Has to be given a shot in this race if only for the quite good Equibase Speed Figure garnered in the last contest. With a solid 63 average Equibase Speed Figure at the distance, seems well suited for today's contest. PRANCIPANTS - With Santos getting the mount, watch out for this racer. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the field lately. ABBMAR - Quinonez has her trained well to break promptly out of the gate. With a very good 61 speed figure last time out, will surely be a factor in this competition.

              Parx Racing - Race #2 - Post: 1:07pm - Claiming - 7.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $21,000 Class Rating: 46

              Rating:

              #3 STREETS OF PARIS (ML=3/1)
              #5 MOPSY (ML=5/2)

STREETS OF PARIS - Haddock and Rodriguez perform well when they unite. It's hard to beat a +41 ROI for a jockey and conditioner. My sidekicks and I have made bucks playing thoroughbreds with this type of early speed. Follow my advice and do the same. This speedy sort is running a shorter distance today. Should help her chances of winning. This filly is rounding her way back into shape. Should perform well today. Faced tougher last out at Parx Racing. Based on class figures, this is a weaker group, so I will put this one on my list of contenders. MOPSY - A win pct like 33 is good for any jock/trainer duo. I am keen on that last outing on April 29th at Parx Racing where she finished first. Ranks highest in earnings per race. A solid outing in this race will boost the lifetime total. Lasix can take some getting used to, especially for a filly. They usually hit stride the second time using it, like we have with this horse.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 FLAG SONG FLYIN (ML=2/1), #7 LA DE PELUCHE (ML=5/1),

FLAG SONG FLYIN - You always figure that this equine has a shot to cross the finish line in first, but she falters often. LA DE PELUCHE - This mare is always in the mix, but just doesn't get the job done. Hard to wager on her on the win end. Garnered a disappointing speed figure in the last race in a $10,000 Maiden Claiming race on Apr 29th. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that figure.
STRAIGHT WAGERS: Put your money on #3 STREETS OF PARIS on the nose if you can get odds of 6/5 or more
              EXACTA WAGERS: Box [3,5]

                Louisiana Downs - Race #4 - Post: 5:29pm - Claiming - 8.3 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $8,000 Class Rating: 82

                Rating:

                #4 FROST ALERT (ML=2/1)
                #5 ROWDY JESS (ML=12/1)

FROST ALERT - Nice winning percent this jock and trainer tandem have been putting together. Ran last time out against a high class rated field at Oaklawn Park. The move down in class ranks should suit him well. Last race at Oaklawn Park, he broke from the far outside. I don't need an advanced degree like The Brain to tell me his inside post position today should help. ROWDY JESS - Faced tougher in the last race at Sam Houston. Based on class figures, this is a weaker bunch, so I will put this horse on my list of top contenders.

                Vulnerable Contenders: #6 HEXCEL (ML=9/5), #3 CABRO TORO (ML=5/2),

HEXCEL - This mount hasn't been on the track since March 7th. Not even any morning activity. CABRO TORO - This gelding has had a great many chances at Louisiana Downs and still no victories. This thoroughbred likes to hit the board, but doesn't usually win. Don't play in the top spot. This gelding ran his top speed figure in some time on the dirt in a route race. There may be a performance bounce today.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - FROST ALERT - Finished a disappointing 12th at Oaklawn Park on May 3rd. But that was on a track listed as good. Expect much better in today's event.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #4 FROST ALERT is going to be the play if we are getting 3/2 or better
                EXACTA WAGERS: Box [4,5]

Race 8 - Maiden Special Weight - 6.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $26400 Class Rating: 74

FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 119 LBS.; OLDER, 123 LBS.
                  RECOMMENDED CHOICES
                  # 6 MONTANA CAFE 6/1
                  # 3 INTERVAL 12/1
                  # 4 TOTAL SILENCE 5/2
My selection in this event is MONTANA CAFE. Gonzalez has an excellent ROI over the past 30 days (+75) which ought to help risk takers with this pick. Looks respectable to be up near the front end at the first call. Has to be given a chance based on the solid speed figure recorded in the last affair. INTERVAL - He should be considered given the quite good speed figures. Should definitely be considered in this event if only for the solid Equibase speed fig recorded in the last race. TOTAL SILENCE - This colt looks good for this event since Radosevich has a very strong win percent with horses going this distance. Is a solid contender - given the 52 speed figure from his most recent race.
